PAHEF’s Core Competencies

  • Creative and agile project management and problem solving
  • 21st century health education expertise
  • Innovative capacity building for the public health sector
  • Technical competence and culturally-sensitive partnership building

An Effective Partner

We bring our talents to project implementation in a variety of ways. From mobilizing funding to playing a vital role in corporate social responsibility initiatives, PAHEF is a knowledgeable, reliable partner improving public health in the hemisphere.

PAHEF’s technical competence is strengthened by the deep relationships we have with leading researchers, academic institutions, and policy-minded entities in the Americas. By leveraging this technical expertise, we are able to bring the latest innovations and methodologies to health-focused initiatives ranging from education to governance.

Private Sector Relationship

PAHEF works with the public and private sectors on behalf of all segments of our hemispheric community. PAHEF’s health expertise and breadth of collaborators in the Americas makes the Foundation a natural partner for national and international corporations across a spectrum of interests. We successfully partner with a range of organizations, including pharmaceutical companies, food manufacturers, and public relations firms.

PAHO Relationship

PAHEF shares the same goal as PAHO—health for all. Many foundation grants are made to support programmatic efforts of PAHO and its member countries. We also work closely with PAHO on a variety of projects including:

  • a project to improve surveillance and characterization of meningococcal disease in the Latin American region;
  • a multiyear initiative to promote evidence-based policy decisions regarding the introduction of new vaccines in Latin America and the Caribbean; and
  • creation of a Center of Excellence for the Prevention and Control of Chronic Diseases on the U.S.-Mexico Border.
