Gilberto Kac, M.D.

Dr. Gilberto Kac is a well-recognized professor and researcher dedicated to studying various aspects of nutrition and weight gain. He has served on the editorial boards for a number of esteemed health-related journals and is a member of the Brazilian Public Health Association, International Association of Epidemiology, and Brazilian Society of Food and Nutrition. At more than a dozen scientific meetings, Dr. Kac has presented his research.

His research interests include nutritional education interventions, maternal obesity, and population nutritional assessment. Specifically, he has conducted research on various topics including nutritional epidemiology in pregnant women from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and physical growth in the children under the age of five in the Peruvian Amazon.

His undergraduate work was completed at Rio de Janeiro Federal University. He received his PhD from the University of São Paulo and studied at the University of Oxford on a post-doctoral fellowship.
